To help commemorate this fall’s ‘Heroes vs Villains’ theme we thought it’d be fun to run a t-shirt design contest. And guess what? The first place winner gets a FREE booth right at the front of the event to sell their geeky items! Think you’re up for the challenge? If so read on…
Specifications
- Artwork should be designed to work on three colours of t-shirt: black, sapphire blue, and red (click on this link to see the specs). Why three colours? Because we’re going to put the design on the shirts that we sell, as well as on our volunteer and staff shirts. We’d like to show off the winning design throughout the weekend of the event! 🙂
- Artwork should be sent in against a black background.
- Artwork must reflect the ‘Heroes vs Villains’ theme.
- All artwork must be original and not use licensed characters.
- Artwork must include the words ‘Heroes vs Villains’ and ‘Ottawa Geek Market 2018’.
- We will not accept applications that include adult content, gore, or graphic language.
- The size of the artwork must not be bigger than 10″ wide X 12″ high.
- Artwork should be created in CMYK with a maximum of six colors (including white). Different shades of the same color (e.g, dark green and light green) are considered separate colors. Black does not count toward the color limit.
- Vector artwork is strongly preferred. File format must be high res (.eps, .jpg, .pdf, or .svg or .ai) at 300 dpi for the official file, however please be sure to include a .jpg or .pdf so our jury can view the file on the computer they’ll be assessing all applicants on.
Artwork that does not meet the specifications listed above will be disqualified from the contest.
Judging Criteria
All submissions will be judged on a variety of criteria including: the use of heroes vs villains imagery, overall design, creativity, broadness of appeal, and meeting of all the specifications listed above. Submissions will be judged by a panel of artists and Geek Market staff.
Submission Method and Deadline
