Ottawa – May 19, 2015 – Geek Market Inc., the parent company of the Ottawa Geek Market, is proud to announce the addition of Game Summit to its list of local events, and Game Summit’s rebranding to the Capital Gaming Expo (CGX).
“It’s important to us to evolve in the ever-changing and growing world of gaming while also maintaining our own unique place in the gaming community. When we found out about other events using a similar name, we knew it was time to create a new name, logo, and overall look for what’s been our favourite gaming event in the city” said Lindsay Sherman, vice-president of the Expo.
“We’re very excited to continue the incredible gaming experience that Game Summit was known for and will be providing the same content of board games, role-playing games and miniatures that have been the heart of Ottawa’s largest gaming event” Ms. Sherman added.
The event will also see the addition of more gaming elements, including video gaming, LARPing, and even a traditional card game or two, placing CGX as Eastern Ontario’s first large-scale gaming convention.
CGX held its first event this past March as part of the Ottawa Geek Market, and saw over 2,500 gaming fans play video games, tabletop games, and miniatures. Its next event will take place on October 3rd and 4th at the Nepean Sportsplex again in conjunction with the Ottawa Geek Market.
